Men's Tennis Opens Season With Win Over Regis

WESTON, Mass. – Sophomore Samuel Ferro's (Whitman, Mass.) straight-set win at No. 6 singles provided the match-clinching point as the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's tennis team opened the 2019-2020 campaign with a 5-4 win over Regis Saturday morning.

Wentworth evened the match when junior Harrison Maki (Rutland, Mass.) and senior Mun Chet (Braintree, Mass.) defeated senior Jayson Vega (Ponce, P.R.) and freshman Lenny Tam (Waltham, Mass.), 8-3, at No. 3, and took a 2-1 lead after juniors Tyler Hall (Framingham, Mass.) and Tristan Maus (Mansfield, Mass.) earned an 8-5 win over sophomore Evan Russell (East Wareham, Mass.) and freshman Josh Nolen (Fairfax, Va.) at No. 2.
