MEDFORD, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology indoor track and field team had a solid performance at the Tufts Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore Marina Schmid (Mendon, Mass.) had a banner day on the track and in the jump pit, and hit a PR in the 60m hurdles at 10.30 in the preliminary round. Schmid ran 10.54 in the final heat before taking second place in the triple jump at 9.82m.
Freshman Luis Godoy (Newton, Mass.) continued his successful rookie campaign, and threw 12.35m (40'6") in the shot put, taking 14th place overall.
Rounding out top field performances was sophomores Hunter Wintle (Detroit, Maine) and Carter Richmond (Pittsfield, Maine), who each made the final heat in the triple jump. Wintle jumped 12.10m (39'8") while Richmond was marked at 11.24m (36'10").
The Leopards return to Tufts University for their next meet, a two-day show for the Branwen Smith King Tufts Stampede Invite on January 25th and 26th.
