Track and Field Competes in David Hemery Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology indoor track and field team competed at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Tyler Cosma headlined the meet with a huge PR in the 800m race with a final time of 2:01.47. Cosma beat out his 2:09.21 mark set just a month ago at the Tufts Invite, while earning second place in his heat.

Rounding out distance top-performances was senior Josh Gangemi (Norton, Mass.), running a 4:29.97 in the mile. The mark tops Gangemi's previous PR set at last year's David Hemery Invitational of 4:30.46.

Sophomore Carter Richmond (Pittsfield, Mass.) headlined the meet with a solid PR in the 200m dash, clocking in at 25.86 for second place in his heat. Richmond shattered his previous mark by nearly two full seconds, which was set at the UMass Boston Open in December. Joining him in the race was freshman Cam Avelleni (Methuen, Mass.), who also ran a career-best in the 200m at 25:01.
