Plymouth, N.H. - Freshmen Jared Pierce (Biddeford, Maine) and Josh Klages (Reading, Mass.) headlined the Panther Invitational for the Wentworth men's indoor track and field team, breaking two school records in Saturday's meet hosted at the campus of Plymouth State University. Wentworth finished sixth out of 11 teams with 43.50 points.
Pierce broke a program record in the shot put - which he previously set last month - throwing 13.28m (43-07). Pierce played third in the event and garnered six points for the Leopards. Jake Sousa also had a banner day in the shot, tossing 9.97m (32-08.5) for a new PR.
Klages set a new bar for the 60m hurdles, finishing the final heat in 9.05, just .05 seconds off the regional qualifying time. Klages took fifth place in the finals, and also cleared 1.85m in high jump, along with teammate Dre Colas (Cambridge, Mass.).

NEXT
- Freshman Colleen Sullivan (East Bridgewater, Mass.) is the lone individual to qualify for the postseason so far, and will compete in the NCAA New England DIII Championship on February 28th and 29th hosted at Middlebury College. The Leopards will have one last chance to qualify nationally when they head to Medford, Mass. for the Tufts National Qualifier on March 7th.
