Burdett Named GNAC Player of the Week

BOSTON, Mass. – Junior outside hitter Ross Burdett (Needham, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for matches played during the period of February 18-24.

Burdett helped the Leopards to a 3-1 week (2-0 GNAC) by hitting .330 and averaging 3.58 kills and 1.92 digs per set. He recorded a match-high 11 kills against GNAC foe Emerson College and also collected nine digs in the 3-0 win. Against Newbury, Burdett swung an impressive .619, collecting a match-high 14 kills in 21 attempts with just one error. In Wentworth's lone loss of the week (to No. 1 ranked Springfield), he led the way with 14 kills.

Having played in all 12 matches (and 36 out of 38 games) for the 8-4 Leopards, Burdett has a team-high 118 kills and is averaging 3.28 kills per game. He is also hitting .300 and is averaging 1.25 digs per game. Wentworth hosts Elms in a non-league contest tonight (Tuesday) at 7:00 p.m.
