BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman setter Collin Ritter (Feeding Hills, Mass.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for matches played from February 16-23.
Ritter played in two of the Leopards' three matches, averaging 10.62 assists per set. In a 3-0 win over Regis he had 33 assists and two blocks, and he followed that up with 52 assists, 13 digs, and two blocks in a 3-2 win at Endicott. The win over Endicott snapped a 21-match series losing streak against the Gulls.
Having played in 12 of the Leopards' 13 matches and 36 of a possible 45 sets, Ritter is averaging 10.08 assists and 1.44 digs per set in addition to serving 10 aces and recording 19 blocks. Wentworth is off to its best start in program history as the Leopards are 11-2 overall and 1-1 in GNAC play. The Leopards host Lasell on Wednesday night.
