Men's Volleyball Earns First-Ever NCAA Regional Ranking

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The first of three published NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Regional Rankings were released today and for the first time in program history, the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team has earned a regional ranking. In matches played through March 23, the Leopards are ranked sixth in the East Region with a 17-7 in-region record.

Of the 69 Division III institutions sponsoring men's volleyball, the Division III Men's Volleyball Committee ranks 12 teams – six in the East Region and six in the West region. Rankings are released on March 27, April 3, and April 10. A final set of rankings – which are unpublished – are used when the committee selects the 10 teams for the 2014 NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Tournament on April 14.

Wentworth has faced four other teams who appear in this week's rankings in Rivier, Baruch, Springfield, and MIT. The complete rankings can be found here.

After their win this evening the Leopards sit at 19-7 and have two more matches scheduled for this week.
