Ritter, Mullen Earn GNAC Weekly Honors

WINTHROP, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference weekly reports have been released and a pair of Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball players have been honored for their play last week. Sophomore setter Collin Ritter (Feeding Hills, Mass.) has been named both the offensive and defensive player of the week while, for the second straight week, freshman outside hitter Sean Mullen (Longwood, Fla.) has been named the league's rookie of the week.

In a 2-1 week for the Leopards, Ritter averaged 10.60 assists, 3.30 digs, and 0.60 blocks per set. He had three kills, 44 assists, 19 digs, and four blocks in a 3-1 loss to No. 13 MIT and also had 30 assists and 10 digs in a 3-0 win over Regis. He began the week with 32 assists and a pair of blocks in Wentworth's 3-0 win over Albertus Magnus, which opened the Black & Gold's conference slate.

Ritter has played in all eight of Wentworth's matches to-date and is averaging 9.58 assists, 0.33 aces, 1.79 digs, and 0.54 blocks per set.

Mullen averaged 3.33 kills and 1.44 digs per set while helping the Leopard improve to 6-2 overall. Against No. 13 MIT he had 17 kills and 10 digs and had a nine kill, four-block performance (while hitting .333) in a 3-0 week.

Through his first eight collegiate matches, Mullen is averaging 3.12 kills, 1.33 digs, and 0.33 service aces per set while hitting .281.

Wentworth hosts Lasell in a GNAC match on Tuesday night.
