Reed Named ECAC North Region Player of the Week

DANBURY, Conn. – A day after being named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, sophomore outside hitter Jake Reed of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team has earned ECAC North Region Player of the Week Honors.

In the Leopards' only match last week, a 3-2 loss to No. 9 NYU, Reed had 22 kills, two service aces, five digs, and three blocks while hitting .415. Reed seven of his match-high 22 kills in the third set where he hit .636 (7-0-11) and also collected both of his aces during that set.

Reed has played in all 16 of Wentworth's matches and 53 of 55 sets. He is averaging 3.23 kills, 0.47 service aces, 1.25 digs, and 0.55 blocks per set while hitting .278 on the season.

Ranked 13th in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 15 Poll, the Leopards are 13-3 overall and 4-0 and GNAC play. Wentworth is at Lasell on Thursday night.
