Two Men's Volleyball Players Earn Weekly Honors

WINTHROP, Mass. – After posting a 3-1 win over Emmanuel in their only match last week, a pair of Wentworth institute of Technology men's volleyball players have been honored by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference with weekly awards. Sophomore setter Collin Ritter (Feeding Hills, Mass.) has been named the league's defensive player of the week while freshman outside hitter Sean Mullen (Longwood, Fla.) was tabbed as the conference's rookie of the week.

Ritter earns his fourth weekly honor from the league (two times offensive player of the week, two times defensive player of the week) after posting five blocks and six digs on the defensive side while recording a service ace and dishing out 45 assists on the offensive side. On the season Ritter is averaging 9.84 assists, 1.89 digs, 0.77 blocks, and 0.28 service aces per contest.

For the fifth time in seven weeks, Mullen is honored as the GNAC Rookie of the Week as he put forward an eight kill, five ace, five block performance in the win over Emmanuel. Mullen continues his impressive rookie campaign as he is averaging 2.81 kills, 0.51 aces, and 0.40 blocks per set while hitting .245.

Sitting at 15-4 overall (5-1 GNAC) and ranked 15th in Division III, Wentworth is at Daniel Webster on Saturday for a tri-match with the Eagles and Elms.
