Engel Tabbed as GNAC Rookie of the Week

BOSTON, Mass. – After establishing career highs in kills, attack percentage, aces, and digs, freshman outside hitter Ryan Engel (Floral Park, N.Y.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week. Engel earns the honor for matches played from March 13-19.

Engel had a career-best match in a 3-0 win over Albertus Magnus as he recorded 12 kills on 15 swings with just one error for a .733 attack percentage. He also served three aces and had four digs in the straight-set win.

In nine matches this season Engel is averaging 1.59 kills and 0.35 service aces per set while hitting .478.

Wentworth, ranked sixth in the latest AVCA Division III Men's Volleyball Poll, is 17-5 overall and 6-0 in GNAC play. The Leopards are at Lasell on Thursday.
