Men's Cross Country Places Third at RWU Invitational

BRISTOL, R.I. – Sophomore Dan McSolla (Bridgewater, Mass.) finished second overall to help pace the Wentworth Institute of Technology cross country team to a third-place finish at the 2015 Roger Williams Invitational.

McSolla covered the five-kilometer course in a time of 16:12.1 – missing out on first by just seven tenths of a second – and his second-place finish was among 144 runners in the field. Wentworth's 104 points as a team were second to Division II Franklin Pierce's 43. Brandeis had 40 points to take home the team title.

Sophomore Alex Robbins (Mansfield, Mass.) finished 16th with a time of 17:00.7, while classmate Patrick Hopkins (Lansdale, Pa.) was 24th with a time of 17:19.2.

Freshman Jonah Eisman (New York, N.Y.) was the Leopards' top rookie runner as he finished the course in a time of 17:26.2, which was good for 31st place (28 points). Senior Kyle Schwartz (South Windsor, Conn.) was 41st (34 points) after running a time of 17:39.0 while freshman Josh Gangemi (Norton, Mass.) was 50th (42 points) with a time of 17:54.8. Sophomore Zach Howey (Pitman, N.J.) rounded out Wentworth's scoring times as he finished 56th (47 points) with a time of 18:00.8.

Junior David Ouellette (Wells, Maine) was 64th overall with a time of 18:19.8 while freshman Nathan Ouellette (Wells, Maine) finished 108th with a time of 19:49.3.

The Leopards will compete at the UNE Invitational next Saturday.
