SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Patrick Hopkins (Lansdale, Pa.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology cross country team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Runner of the Week for the week of October 12-18. This marks the second time in three weeks he has earned this honor.
Hopkins finished fourth among 203 runners at the 10th Annual Emmanuel Saints Invitational with a season-best time of 26:48.8 to help his teammates capture a team title for the second consecutive meet. The Leopards accumulated 72 points, besting Norwich by six points.
Wentworth will next compete at the CCC Championships at Colt State Park in Bristol, R.I., on Oct. 31. A season a go the Leopards, competing in their first season as a varsity program, finished second.
