Cross Country Opens 2016 Campaign With Second Place Finish

BRISTOL, R.I. – Paced by a pair of top-10 finishes, the Wentworth Institute of Technology cross country team kicked off the 2016 campaign with a second place finish at the Roger Williams Invitational. The race was a five-kilometer race run at Colt State Park. The Leopards amassed 76 points in the 11-team field, finishing behind Colby-Sawyer's 51.

Junior Dan McSolla (Bridgewater, Mass.) finished second among 99 runners as he crossed the line in a time of 16:10.32. Classmate Alex Robbins (Mansfield, Mass.) was fourth with a time of 16:25.77.

Senior David Ouellette (Wells, Maine) was 18th as he finished with a time of 17:40.11, sophomore Jonah Eisman (New York, N.Y.) was 20th (17:47.76), and sophomore Josh Gangemi (Norton, Mass.) was 32nd (18:00.94) to round out the top five scores.

Sophomore Nathan Oullette (Wells, Maine) finished 41st with a time of 18:17.43 while classmate Chris Kaberle (Pelham, N.H.) was 80th after crossing the line in a time of 20:22.88.

Wentworth will compete at the UNE Invitational next Saturday (September 10).
