Cross Country Places in Upper Half at James Early Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Junior Dan McSolla (Bridgewater, Mass.) finished third among 431 runners to help pace the Wentworth cross country team to a 20th-place finish at the James Early Invitational, which was run at Stanley Park Saturday afternoon.

McSolla covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 25:37.91 which was just over 27 seconds behind the first-place finisher, Damon Kilgore from Gordon. As a team the Leopards amassed 549 points, which was 25 points behind Endicott and six points ahead of St. Michael's. Brandeis used four top-15 finishes to take the 41-team meet with 68 points.

Senior David Ouellette (Wells, Maine) finished 87th, earning 82 points as he crossed the line in a time of 27:37.81. Sophomore Josh Gangemi (Norton, Mass.) was 155th (133 points) after finishing in a time of 28:31.86. Classmate Jonah Eisman (New York, N.Y.) was 198th (163 points) after he finished with a time of 29:08.95. Junior Patrick Hopkins (Lansdale, Pa.) finished closely behind Eisman, placing 205th (168 points) at 29:14.70.

Sophomore Nathan Ouellette (Wells, Maine) rounded out Wentworth's competing runners by placing 225th with a time of 29:30.65.

Wentworth next competes at the Saints Invitational on Friday.
