SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – After posting a 13th-place finish at the 2017 Paul Short Run, two members of the Wentworth Institute of Technology cross country team have been honored by the Commonwealth Coast Conference. Senior Alex Robbins (Mansfield, Mass.) was named the CCC Runner of the Week while freshman Tyler Cosma (Center Moriches, N.Y.) took home rookie of the week honors.
After placing second in each of his three previous meets, Robbins recorded a career-best time of 25:38.8 to place first in the Men's College White Race's 283-runner field and was one of two Leopards to finish in the top 10.
Cosma posted a career-best time of 28:11.5 which placed him 127th and earned the Leopards 122 of their 337 points.
Wentworth will next compete at the Emmanuel College Saints Invitational on Friday, October 13.
