Cross Country Takes Second at Suffolk Invite; Gangemi and Cosma Finish Top 10

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Josh Gangemi (Norton, Mass.) and sophomore Tyler Cosma (Center Moriches, N.Y.) each finished in the top 10 to lead the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's cross country team to a second-place finish at the Suffolk Invitational on Friday afternoon. 

The Leopards finished at the number two spot for the third time this season, and collected 71 points overall, finishing only behind Tiffin University which garnered 40 points in the meet.

Gangemi led the Leopards with a 28:08 finish on the 8k course, while Cosma and sophomore Will Allen (West Hartford, Conn.) followed at 28:17 and 28:20 in a group-led effort.

Junior Tom Caruso (Mahopac, N.Y.) finished next for Wentworth at 28:43. before sophomore Wes Brimeyer (Dubuque, Iowa) came in at 29:09. Freshman Alexander Foote (North Easton, Mass.) and senior Nathan Oullette clocked in at 33:11 and 33:46, respectively, rounding out the total team effort for the Leopards.

Wentworth, which has won three straight conference titles, will again compete in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship meet on Saturday, October 27 hosted by Gordon College in Wenham, Mass.
