Cross Country Takes Second at Endicott Invitational

TOPSFIELD, Mass. – Juniors Will Allen (West Hartford, Conn.) and Wes Brimeyer (Dubuque, Iowa) placed in the top 10 to lead the Wentworth men's cross country team to a second-place finish at the Endicott College Invitational.

In its first 8k of the season, Wentworth outperformed Commonwealth Coast Conference opponents Endicott and Salve Regina, while falling to front-runner Nichols who took first in the event.

"It was a slow course today, we just wanted to go out and race. It was a good experience for our younger guys to run their first 8k and see some conference competition," said head coach Dan Roark.

Allen finished seventh overall and first among his Leopard teammates at 29:44, followed shortly after by Brimeyer at 29:47.  Newcomers Ryan Smith (Billerica, Mass.) and Patrick heavy (Mansfield, Mass.) rolled in together at 30:15 and 30:21, respectively, placing 14th and 15th overall in their first 8k in Black & Gold.

Christian Boyadjiev (Burlington, Mass.) and Brendan Jeanjaquet (Weymouth, Mass.) clocked in the 32nd minute at 32:02 and 32:32, while Rob Moran (Billerica, Mass.) rounded out the scoring at 34:26.

Wentworth will compete at the Bowdoin College Invitational for its next meet on Saturday, September 21.
