Junior Liz Glavin (Ipswich, Mass.) and sophomore Karsyn Sawyer (Chatham, N.Y.) joined Bacik with six hits each on the day for the winners, who also received four hits each from senior Paige Mochi (Cambridge, Mass.) and junior Sam Curran (Quincy, Mass.) along with four RBI from Sawyer, junior Anne Harris (Germantown, Md.) and freshman Kendall Kelly (New Lebanon, N.Y.).

Freshman Maya Bloom (Hopkinton, N.H.) went the distance inside the circle in the opener to earn her first collegiate victory for the Leopards in fanning a pair, while Bacik collected the nightcap triumph for Wentworth in allowing one earned run and striking out 10 along the way.

Freshman Kristen O'Brien (Boston, Mass.) rapped out a pair of hits and drove in three runs in the season opening contests for the host Buccaneers (0-2), who also received a pair of hits and two RBI from junior Meghan Weir (North Andover, Mass.) as well as run-scoring singles off the bats of senior Crystal Sherman (Charlton, Mass.) and sophomore Brittany Driscoll (Sutton, Mass.).
