The Falcons regained the lead in the third inning, thanks to a four-run frame as sophomore Christine Briggs (Rumford, Maine) had a two-run single, classmate Cassy Pillard (Jefferson, N.H.) had an RBI single, and classmate Jayla Vega (Hoboken, N.J.) drove in a run when she reached on a fielder's choice.

Both teams scored three times in the second inning as Pillard had a two-run triple and would score on a wild pitch in the top of the inning and Bacik had a three-run double in the home half of the inning.

In the third inning, Jordan Smith scored after sophomore Emily Smith (Oxford, N.Y.) singled and advanced on the throw and a Leopard error. Freshman Victoria Park (Lynn, Mass.) delivered a two-run triple, giving the visitors a 7-6 lead. The lead would be short-lived, however, as MacDonald-Soccorso, who reached on an error, scored when Curran reached on an error.
