Caitlin Luquet was named the fifth head coach in the history of the Wentworth softball program on October 3, 2013.

A native of Berkley, Calif. and 2008 graduate of Carondelet High School (Concord, Calif.), Luquet attended Regis College for two years where she played three sports (volleyball, basketball, softball). On the softball diamond she played in 75 games, batting .349 with 16 doubles, three triples, five home runs, 46 runs batted in, and a slugging percentage of .534. During her freshman season she batted .407 with nine doubles and four homeruns, en route to being named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Year and was an Honorable Mention All-CCC selection. During her sophomore season she hit .298 with seven doubles, five triples, and 22 RBI and ranked among the national leaders in Division III for triples.

Luquet transferred to Curry at the start of her junior year, however an injury in the first game of the season forced her to miss the entire season. She rebounded to post a .339 average (42-for-124) with 11 doubles, one home run, 18 RBI, and a slugging percentage of .452 and was a Second Team All-CCC selection as well as being named her team’s most valuable player as a senior. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in visual art from Curry in 2012 and is presently working towards her Master’s degree in educational administration from the University of Massachusetts Boston.

During the 2013 season, she served as an assistant softball coach at UMass Boston, where the Beacons started the season with a 5-18 record, but finished the regular season with a 10-7 record to help secure their third straight appearance in the Little East Conference Tournament. She serves as a hitting instructor at Extra Innings and has coached volleyball (head junior varsity/middle school) and basketball (varsity assistant) at Buckingham Browne & Nichols since 2011.
