Beverly, Mass - Despite an 11-10 lead after the first quarter, the Wentworth women's basketball team fell to Endicott College, 67-44, on Wednesday night inside MacDonald Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Leopards took charge in the first quarter and jumped to an early 7-0 lead, highlighted by a three-pointer from junior Kayla Kelley (Boston, Mass.). The Gulls bucketed four quick points before freshman Isabella Perez (Homestead, Fla.) kept the gap at five, 9-4, with 4:32 left in the frame. The Gulls ended the stanza with a 6-2 run with four points from Kaleigh Putnam, as the Leopards held an 11-10 lead after the first ten minutes.

  • Endicott exploded offensively in the second frame, outscoring the Leopards 23-13 with 50% shooting from the floor. Emily Pratt went off for nine points, and capped a 17-4 run with a layup for the 27-15 score. At the half, the Gulls led 33-24.

  • Endicott continued to connect from the floor throughout the remainder of the contest, and held Wentworth to just nine points in the third quarter. With 7:12 left in the game, Endicott took its largest lead of 29 points.

  • Wentworth grabbed 51 rebounds as a team in its third game over 50 on the glass
