Endicott Cruises Past Women's Lacrosse, 20-3

BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore Taylor Rogerson (Washington Depot, Conn.) scored four goals, while seniors Holly Davis (Guilford, Conn.) and Caitlin Pratt (Bow, N.H.) added three apiece as the Endicott College women's lacrosse team scored the game's first four goals and never looked back, en route to a 20-3 win over Wentworth in Commonwealth Coast Conference play.

The Gulls jumped out to a 4-0 lead in a three-minute span as senior Kelly Tierney (South Hadley, Mass.) and Rogerson scored 11 seconds apart and senior Holly Davis (Guilford, Conn.) tallied a pair of goals. The Leopards got on the board with 21:07 left on a goal from senior Meg Ferro (Syracuse, N.Y.) to make it a 4-1 game.

Tierney and senior Stacia Geno (White River Junction, Vt.) scored to make it 6-1 before Wentworth sophomore Jessica Houghton (Billerica, Mass.) cut the lead to 6-2 with 13:59 left in the half. From there the Gulls broke the game open by scoring the next 11 goals and taking a 17-2 lead with 20:34 left in the game. Rogerson had three goals during the run while Pratt had two.

Houghton scored her second of the game with 18:40 left before Endicott scored the game's final three goals.

Thirteen different Gulls recorded at least one point for Endicott, with nine players recording multiple points. Tierney had two goals and two assists, junior Callie Murphy (Woburn, Mass.) had a goal and four assists, and Davis also added two assists to go along with her three markers. Murphy had a game-high five draw controls, Tierney collected seven ground balls, and senior Lauren Todd (Newfields, N.H.) caused three turnovers. Junior Rachel Socolow (Westford, Mass.) made five saves.

Houghton finished with two goals and an assist, to go along with a team-high five ground balls and three caused turnovers. Seniors Lisa Piccirillo (Islip, N.Y.) and Liv Gardner (Westford, Mass.) also added assists. Freshman Hayley Patton (Cranston, R.I.) made 13 saves.

Endicott held a 39-9 shot advantage, a 30-20 ground ball advantage and a 22-3 draw control advantage.

With the win the Gulls improve to 5-4 overall and remain unbeaten (3-0) in CCC play. Endicott hosts Southern Maine on Thursday. Wentworth falls to 1-5 (0-3) and hosts Gordon on Saturday.
