BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Hannah Warren (Harrison, Maine) scored four first-half goals and added an assist to help the University of New England women's lacrosse team to a 19-3 win over Wentworth Institute of Technology in Commonwealth Coast Conference action played on Sweeney Field.

With the win the Nor'Easters improve to 9-7 overall and 4-4 in CCC play. UNE, which will be seeded fourth, will play in a first round CCC Tournament game on Saturday at Roger Williams while Wentworth, which won one game in its inaugural campaign in 2013, finished the 2014 season with a 3-12 record.

UNE scored the game's first seven goals, all in a span of 8:23. Warren scored three times, junior Gina Newsome (Danbury, Conn.) had two goals, and junior Macki Hill (York Beach, Maine) and freshman Cole Dion (Lakeville, Mass.) scored a goal apiece.

Junior Jessica Houghton (Billerica, Mass.) put the Leopards on the board with a goal with 21:24 left before sophomore Katie Cawley (Cumberland, Maine) brought the margin back to seven. Sophomore Pam Mudge (Hooksett, Mass.) scored 1:10 left, which made the score 8-2.

The Nor'Easters scored the final six goals of the half as junior Nikki Smith (Shapleigh, Maine) had two and Newsome, Cawley, Warren, and junior Jessica Deedon (Sherman, Conn.) found the back of the net once.

Mudge scored the first goal of the second half on a free position shot just 40 seconds into the frame, however that would be the lone Wentworth goal of the half as UNE scored the final five goals with freshman Carly Sheehan (Wakefield, R.I.), Deedon, sophomore Amelie Petersen (Hamburg, Germany), freshman Tori Stocks (York, Maine), and freshman Jocelyn Davee (Freeport, Maine) all scoring.

Newsome finished with three goals and an assist, Cawley had two goals and two assists, Smith and Deedon each had two goals and an assist, and Dion had a goal and an assist. Stocks had four draw controls with Warren and Deedon each winning three. Newsome picked up four ground balls. Sophomore Courtney Kendall (Waltham, Mass.) made six saves in the first half and classmate Lauryn Huck (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) made eight saves over the final 30:00.

Mudge finished with two of the Leopards' three goals and won five draw controls. Freshman Mykaela Scarpace (Marlborough, Conn.), senior Decia Splaine (West Newbury, Mass.), and junior Alexandrea Banks (Ellington, Conn.) each scooped up four ground balls. Junior Robyn Pacini (Stoneham, Mass.) made five saves in 25:31 of work. Sophomore Hayley Patton (Cranston, R.I.) made six saves over the final 34:29.
