BRISTOL, R.I. – Paced by 10 points (six goals and four assists) from junior Kaelin Hogan (Bethel, Conn.), the Roger Williams University women's lacrosse team defeated Wentworth Institute of Technology, 23-2, in a Commonwealth Coast Conference contest Tuesday night.

With the win the Hawks improve to 12-3 overall and 7-1 in league play while the Leopards' season ends with a 2-14 (0-8) record.

Roger Williams scored the first six goals of the game and never looked back. During the opening run Hogan and senior McKenna Everding (Fayetteville, N.Y.) provided the offense as each player scored three goals and an assist.

Wentworth got on the board with 20:49 remaining in the half on sophomore Brooke Paradis' (Pelham, N.H.) record 91st goal of her career. However, the Hawks used a 13-0 run over the next 36:01 to put the game out of reach. Freshman Julie Dam (Milford, Mass.) ended the run with a goal with 14:48 remaining.

In addition to her 10 points, Hogan won five draw controls. Everding finished with five goals and an assist and sophomore Emily Stoeppel (Brookfield, Conn.) had four goals and three assists. Stoeppel also scooped up four ground balls and won four draw controls.

Sophomore Caitlin McCormick (Hanson, Mass.) scooped up five ground balls and caused two turnovers. Paradis won three draw controls and sophomore Leah Cummins (Plymouth, Mass.) caused a pair of turnovers.

Roger Williams senior Kimberly Bolk (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) made four saves in 48:08 of work before giving way to freshman Lydia Nelson (Center Moriches, N.Y.) who didn't need to make a save in 11:52. Wentworth sophomore Liz Gunning (Fort Salonga, N.Y.) made five saves. The Hawks had advantages in shots (31-7) and ground balls (22-15).
