BOSTON, Mass. – Wentworth Institute of Technology head women's lacrosse coach Jessie Koffman has announced her resignation to take a similar position at Emerson College. Director of Athletics Cheryl Aaron accepted the resignation, effective immediately.
"I want to thank Jessie for her hard work and commitment to the women's lacrosse program at Wentworth," said Aaron. "She was able to reach new heights throughout her four-year tenure, culminating with a record-breaking season in 2018. We wish her the very best of luck in her venture at Emerson College."
Koffman, the program's second coach since its varsity inception in 2013, took the Leopards to new heights this past season, breaking a number of records, including most wins in a season. Wentworth posted seven victories – just one more than the previous three seasons combined – including two of its first-ever Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) wins. The Leopards landed a program-best three players on the All-CCC Teams, after Koffman coached the Leopards' first-ever all-conference selection in 2017.
"I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity to have coached at Wentworth for the past four seasons," said Koffman. "It was truly a privilege to work with a dedicated and passionate group of coaches, administrators, and student-athletes. I would like to give a special thank you to all of the players I was fortunate enough to coach during my tenure, and I have complete confidence that they will continue to take the women's lacrosse program to the next level."
No stranger to the CCC, Koffman played two seasons at Curry College where she scored 121 goals in 39 games for the Colonels. In 2011, she was named a First Team All-CCC selection, and ranked fourth in Division III in total points (129) fifth in points per game (6.14) eighth in goals (79) and 10thin assists (50).
Prior to arriving at Wentworth, Koffman served as the Head Girls Lacrosse Coach at Dedham High School. During her three seasons coaching Marauders, Koffman helped the squad to 17 wins, including qualifying for the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Tournament for the first time in program history during the 2013 season.
