Strong Mid-Game Surge Sends Dean over Women's Lacrosse
Bulldogs best Leopards, 13-4; Shayleah Gunning-Lavoie notches three goals and four draw controls

FRANKLIN, Mass. – A four-goal performance in the first half from Natalie Peterson helped the Dean Bulldogs women's lacrosse team (3-3) to a 13-4 triumph over Wentworth Institute of Technology (3-2), who suffered their first setback since February 26, in non-conference play Thursday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After Peterson scored the opening-frame's lone tally at the 12:20 mark to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 edge, Dean scored another five unanswered in a span of 10:29 in the second quarter, featuring another two from Peterson.
- Allie Stockwell and Haley Gaunt each posted their second goals of the contest in the third quarter to give the Bulldogs an 8-0 advantage by the 10:36 mark. Another three straight, featuring two on free position shots, gave Dean an 11-0 lead by the 4:00 mark.
- Wentworth found twine in the fourth frame with Shayleah Gunning-Lavoie potting a tally at the 13:05 mark. Gunning-Lavoie managed another two scores (7:36, 5:43) to cut the Leopards' deficit to 11-3 before Dean responded with two of their own. Grace Del Pilar found the goal mouth at the 1:46 mark to mark a 13-4 game.
- In goal, Lily Cohen made 11 saves. Gunning-Lavoie and Del Pilar each notched four draw controls while Sydney Vega led the team with five ground balls.
SERIES NOTES:
- Today marked the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
