SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Freshman forward Amanda Weinberger (Colchester, Conn.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's soccer team has earned Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week honors for games played the week of September 30-October 6.

Weinberger contributed offensively in both games as the Leopards went 2-0 on the week.  Against regionally ranked Western Connecticut, Weinberger had a goal and an assist in the offensive battle to help the Leopards hold on for a 5-4 win, the first-ever Wentworth win over the Colonials, who were 8-2 coming into the match Later in the week against conference opponent Curry, she chipped in with an assist to help Wentworth grab the 6-1 conference win.

Having started nine of the 11 games in which she has played in for the 4-5-2 Leopards, Weinberger has tallied three goals and two assists for eight points on the season. Wentworth hosts UMass Boston on Tuesday night.
