Women's Soccer Donates to Dana Farber

BOSTON, Mass. – For the second year in a row, the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's soccer team has helped the fight against breast cancer by selling t-shirts with all proceeds going to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. This year the Leopards raised $1,250, which nearly doubled last year's total of $675.

On Wednesday, February 26, members of the team, along with head coach Bobby Desilets, presented their donation to Dana Farber and had a chance to tour the facilities. During the tour the team got to witness what their donation goes to and the wonderful work the organization is doing first hand as well as learning about different volunteering opportunities available.

"I am so proud of our team at they continue to raise awareness for the fight against breast cancer with their fundraiser selling t-shirts every year," said Desilets. The visit to Dana Farber was rewarding as all the student-athletes got to see what their donation goes towards and was able to learn about other ways they can volunteer their time to help the organization. The experience they gained was amazing."
