CCC Women's Soccer Tournament Pairings Announced

BOSTON, Mass. – After posting a 3-5-2 record in Commonwealth Coast Conference play (8-8-2 overall), the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's soccer team will be seeded seventh in the upcoming CCC Tournament, which begins on Saturday (November 1) with four quarterfinal round games.

For the second time in the last three seasons the Leopards will travel to Endicott for the quarterfinals as the Gulls earned the number two seed with a 6-2-1 conference record (10-4-4 overall). The time for this contest will be announced on Wednesday night after the men's tournament pairings have been announced as Endicott could host quarterfinal round contests in both genders.

Roger Williams (15-2-3, 7-0-2) has earned the number one seed and will host eighth-seeded Nichols (7-11-0, 2-7-0) at a time to be determined on Wednesday night. Third-seeded Eastern Nazarene (9-9-0, 6-3-0) plays host to sixth-seeded Western New England (7-8-4, 4-3-2) at 11:00 a.m., while fifth-seeded Gordon (12-6-0, 5-4-0) is at fourth-seeded University of New England (11-3-2, 5-2-2) at Noon.

The four quarterfinal winners will advance to the semifinals on Tuesday, November 4, with the championship match being played on Saturday, November 8. All contests will be hosted by the higher seed.

Saturday's game will be the 23rd all-time between the two programs with Endicott holding a 19-2-1 advantage, including a 2-0 win this past Saturday. In 12 meetings at Endicott, the Gulls are 11-0-1. This will be the third consecutive season and sixth time overall the two teams have met in the post-season with Endicott posting a 4-0-1 record over the previous five. Last season the Gulls prevailed, 1-0, in overtime in the semifinal round, while two years ago the two teams battled to a 0-0 tie over 110 minutes before Endicott prevailed on penalty kicks, 3-1.
