MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – Three different players tallied goals and freshman Micaela Robinson (Goshen, N.Y.) made three saves as the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's soccer team posted its third straight shutout with a 3-0 win over Salve Regina in a Commonwealth Coast Conference contest played at Gaudet Field.

Winners of three straight the Leopards improve to 8-2-1 overall and 3-1 in CCC play while the Seahawks fall to 3-7-1 (1-3).

The Black & Gold got the only goal they would need in the ninth minute of play. Junior Mary Annon (Concord, N.H.) served a corner kick from the right corner towards the box where sophomore Ali Leach (Stowe, Vt.) put a shot past Seahawk freshman keeper Carly Pala (Milford, Conn.) at 8:02.

Wentworth would have a pair of corner kicks and would have three scoring chances, however were unable to add to its lead until junior Amanda Weinberger (Colchester, Conn.) scored at 17:40.

The 2-0 lead carried into the half as the Leopards outshot Salve Regina by a 12-0 margin over the first 45:00, including putting six shots on net.

Early in the second half, freshman Madyson Reno (Simi Valley, Calif.) rounded out the scoring as she scored her fourth of the season off a pass from sophomore Jillian Senko (Lancaster, N.Y.). That goal came at 48:22.

Wentworth had chances to increase its lead late, however Pala made a pair of saves. On the defensive end, the Seahawks didn't record a shot until the 47:24 mark and Robinson turned aside all three shots she faced in the second half for her second straight solo shutout.

The Leopards held a 19-8 shot advantage and had all four of the game's corner kicks. With the shutout, the Leopards extend their shutout streak to 314:37.

Wentworth hosts UMass Boston in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Salve Regina is at Framingham State on Wednesday.
