Women's Soccer Earns NCAA Regional Ranking

BOSTON, Mass. – The first of three NCAA Division III women's soccer regional rankings were released on Wednesday afternoon and Wentworth Institute of Technology finds itself ranked 11th after sporting a 10-3-2 record as of Oct. 17.

Including yesterday's 7-2 win over Eastern Nazarene, the Leopards sit at 11-3-2 overall and are in first place in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with a 6-0-1 record. Through 16 contests Wentworth has outscored opponents by a 47-13 margin, including shutting out opponents eight times.

In the three published regional rankings, 12 teams from the New England region are ranked and the regional advisory committee bases its ranking off of not only winning percentage, but a weighted formula containing opponent winning percentage and opponent's opponent winning percentage to calculate an in-division strength of schedule number. Through games of Oct. 17, Wentworth's SOS was .555. Three of the Leopards' previous opponents are also ranked as Brandeis is second, Amherst is fourth, and WPI is ninth.

Wentworth hosts Endicott on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
