SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – A 3-0 victory by Roger Williams over Salve Regina and a 0-0 draw between Wentworth and the University of New England on the final day of the regular season created a tie for the top seed in the 2016 Commonwealth Coast Conference Women's Soccer Tournament.

While both the Hawks and Leopards earned regular-season co-champion honors, Roger Williams, winners of the last three conference championships, earns the number one seed by virtue of the second tiebreaker. The Hawks and Leopards tied, 0-0, in their regular-season meeting, which offers no relief in the head-to-head tiebreaker. The next step was performance against other conference teams in rank order. Both teams defeated Endicott, which earned the number three seed, but the Hawks had a win over fourth-seeded University of New England while the Leopards played the Nor'easters to a draw.

Roger Williams and Wentworth will host quarterfinal round games as the Hawks entertain eighth-seeded Gordon at 11:00 a.m. and the Leopards host seventh-seeded Western New England at 3:00 p.m. Saturday's game will begin at 3:00 p.m., as Western New England's distance to Wentworth campus is further than the opponent the men will host in their quarterfinal contest, as per conference policies.

Endicott and the University of New England will host the other two quarterfinals. The Gulls will host sixth-seeded Salve Regina at 7:00 p.m., while the Nor'Easters will host fifth-seeded Curry at Noon.

Saturday will mark the 12th all-time meeting between the two schools with Wentworth, winners of the last six series meetings, holding a 6-5 advantage. On Oct. 1, the Leopards used three second half goals to snap a scoreless tie, en route to a 3-0 win. This marks just the second playoff meeting between the two programs as on Nov. 4, 2009, Western New England handed the Leopards a 2-0 loss in the semifinal round played in Springfield, Mass.

If Wentworth wins on Saturday, the start time for the semifinal game against either Endicott or Salve Regina would be 7:00 p.m. on Sweeney Field.
