Women's Soccer Holds at No. 11 in NCAA Regional Ranking

BOSTON, Mass. – Coming off a 1-0-1 week, the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's soccer team remained ranked 11th in the third set of NCAA regional rankings, which were released on Wednesday afternoon. The Leopards have been ranked 11th in each of the three rankings.

Wentworth presently sits at 14-3-3 and is currently riding a six-game unbeaten streak (6-0-1). During the streak the Black & Gold is outscoring opponents by an 18-2 margin. Wentworth has not allowed a goal in the last 381:46, posting four straight shutouts.

In the three published regional rankings, 12 teams from the New England region are ranked and the regional advisory committee bases its ranking off of not only winning percentage, but a weighted formula containing opponent winning percentage and opponent's opponent winning percentage to calculate an in-division strength of schedule number. Through games of Oct. 24, Wentworth's SOS was .549. Three of the Leopards' opponents this season are among this week's ranked teams as Amherst is second, Brandeis is third, and WPI is seventh.

The Leopards will host Gordon in the championship game of the 2016 Commonwealth Coast Conference Women's Soccer Tournament Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
