BOSTON, Mass. – Four different players scored goals, including senior Mary Pastorelli (Whitesboro, N.Y.) who also added an assist as the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's soccer team captured the 2016 Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship with a 4-0 win over Gordon.

The championship is not only the first for the Leopard women's soccer program, which had also reached the conference finals in 2003 and 2014, but also the first CCC title for any women's sport in Wentworth history. The Black & Gold sits at 15-3-3 and earns their first-ever trip to the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament where they will find out their opponent on Monday at 1:30 p.m. The Fighting Scots, who had defeated both the number one and five seeds to advance to their second straight final, end their season with an 8-10-2 mark.

Wentworth came out firing, with three shots in the first five minutes, however it was Gordon which nearly scored the first goal on its first shot attempt as freshman Devin Lacroix (Candia, N.H.) served a corner kick in front to senior Kara Dry (Madison, Conn.). Dry's attempt off the corner was saved by sophomore Micaela Robinson (Goshen, N.Y.). Just over eight minutes later the junior Emily Richard (Fremont, N.H.) almost broke the ice with a header from in front which was saved by freshman Kayli Denty (Marshfield, Mass.).

Junior Ali Leach (Stowe, Vt.) gave Wentworth a 1-0 lead at the 24:38 mark as Richard sent her a pass along the left side which she fired on net. The shot hit the right side post and caromed over the line for her sixth goal of the season.

With 1:12 remaining in the half, senior Michelle Murphy (West Islip, N.Y.) gave the Leopards a 2-0 lead. Pastorelli fed Murphy from the right side where she crossed the box and put her attempt in the upper left corner for her first of the year

Pastorelli gave Wentworth a 3-0 lead when she scored on a penalty kick. Senior Amanda Weinberger (Colchester, Conn.) was fouled in the box and Pastorelli stepped up to net her third goal of the season.

Freshman Sidney Brogan (Los Angeles, Calif.) rounded out the scoring with a goal with 12:35 remaining when she scored her ninth marker of the season on a shot from 15 yards out which found the top left corner.

Robinson played the first 74:13, making one save. Classmates Christie Fleming (Braintree, Mass.) and Rachel Schaeffer (Lumberton, N.J.) played the final 15:47. Fleming made one save. Denty made nine stops for Gordon.

Wentworth had a 25-6 shot advantage. Corner kicks were even at 2-all.
