Rodriguez Nets Two as Leopards Blank Dean

BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Alexandria Rodriguez (San Diego, Calif.) scored two goals to lead the Wentworth women's soccer team to a non-conference win against Dean College on Saturday afternoon.

Wentworth moves to .500 at 3-3 this season, while Dean drops to 0-5 still in search of its first win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Wentworth's two goals over an eight-minute span gave the home team a 2-0 advantage after twenty minutes which held throughout the game's remainder.
  • The Leopards outshot Dean 22-0, and held a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks, one which caused Wentworth's second goal from junior Emma daSilva (Lowell, Mass.).

GOALKEEPERS

  • Junior Allison Haynes (Shelton, Conn.) earned her third win of the season without having to make a save through 90 minutes.
  • Macy Parisee took the loss in net for Dean despite making 11 saves.

NOTEWORTHY

  • This is the first meeting between the two teams
  • The Leopards are 2-1 on Sweeney this season
  • Rodriguez' goals are the first of her junior career
