BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman Lana Ho's (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) three-set win at number six singles lifted the Wentworth women's tennis team to its first win of 2009, a 5-4 triumph over Curry.
The host Leopards took a 2-1 lead after the three doubles matches as the number two doubles team of Jeannine Stover (Calais, Maine) and Angela Brandt (Northport, Maine) and the number three doubles team of Lydia Caserta (Hudson, Mass.) and Natalya Cappellini (Falmouth, Mass.) each won their matches, 9-8.
In singles play junior Meredith Gratton (West Chazy, N.Y.) won at number five, while Brandt won at number four. With Curry taking flights two, one, and three to tie the match, Ho dropped the first set, 3-6, before winning the next two, 6-2, 6-3.
