BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman Deborah Massaro (Stony Point, N.Y.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's tennis team has been named The Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending October 10, 2010.
Massaro played a key role in the Leopards' 2-0 record last week, winning both her matches at number four singles. In both matches she did not drop a game, winning each, 6-0, 6-0. She also teamed with Sophomore Jillian Flynn (Billerica, Mass.) to go 2-0 at number two doubles.
On the season Massaro has been a bright spot for the Leopards, as she has posted a 9-1 singles record (6-1 at number four, 3-0 at number six) and has a 5-4 (2-1 at number two, 3-3 at number three).
