Corcoran, Ofer Earn All-CCC Accolades

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Eight different institutions that sponsor women's tennis from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) were represented on the 2013 All-CCC Women's Tennis Team. In addition to the all-conference team, four major individual award winners and the team sportsmanship award winner were selected.

Voting for the All-CCC team and the major awards was conducted among CCC head women's tennis coaches.

Wentworth placed a pair of student-athletes on the all-conference team as sophomore Caitlin Corcoran (Brockton, Mass.) was named Second Team All-CCC in singles play and Corcoran and junior doubles partner Virginia Ofer (Cooperstown, N.Y.) earned honorable mention all-conference accolades.

Corcoran, the conference's rookie of the year and a Second Team All-CCC selection a season ago had another solid season playing at number one. She posted an 8-5 record this season, including a 4-4 mark in CCC play. Through two seasons – with all 25 of her matches coming at number one singles – she is 14-11, which ties her for seventh on the program's all-time win list.

For the second season in a row, Corcoran and Ofer earned honorable mention accolades. The duo was paired at number one doubles for all 13 of the Leopards' matches this past season and posted a 6-7 overall record. Both have career 11-13 doubles records and are 11-12 when paired together at doubles; all at number one.

Under first-year head coach Erin Phillips, Wentworth finished its fall season with a 5-8 record. The five wins eclipsed the previous year's total of three.
