Hodgkins Named Head Men's & Women's Tennis Coach

BOSTON, Mass. – Wentworth Institute of Technology Director of Athletics Cheryl Aaron today announced the hiring of Kenny Hodgkins as the Leopards' new men's and women's tennis coach.

"We are very excited to have Kenny joining the Wentworth Athletic team," said Aaron. "Kenny brings a great deal of experience to the position, as he was a tremendously successful collegiate player at Salem State, and most recently, working through the coaching ranks at the high school and college levels."

Hodgkins joins the Leopards after most recently serving as the Girls Tennis Coach at Winthrop High School where he was he was named the Northeastern Conference Coach of the Year in 2016. Prior to becoming a head coach, he served for a season as the Assistant Boys Tennis Coach at Winthrop High School in 2014 and as an Assistant Men's Tennis Coach at Salem State in 2015. He has also worked numerous camps and serves as the tennis coordinator for the Winthrop Parks and Recreation Department.

A 2013 graduate of Salem State University, Hodgkins played three seasons for the Vikings at both singles and doubles. During his junior season (2012), he was named Second Team All-Little East in doubles after he and his partner posted a 5-4 record. As a senior captain, he also notched four wins at number five singles and added three wins in doubles play. He graduated from Salem State in 2013 with a degree in Business Management.

Wentworth opens the 2017-18 campaign on Friday, Sept. 1, against Worcester State.
