Women's Tennis Falls at Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology women's tennis team was defeated by Endicott College, 9-0, in Commonwealth Coast Conference play Wednesday afternoon.

Freshman Ali Sollecito (Taunton, Mass.) and junior Ellen Butts (Brookfield, Mass.) were defeated at No. 1 doubles, 8-1, while seniors Sam Webb (Duxbury, Mass.) and Caitlyn Briggs (Lee, Mass.) fell, 8-2, at No.2. The Gulls took the sweep in doubles when sophomore Sam McGibbon (Pembroke, Mass.) and junior Veronica Monteiro (North Andover, Mass.) fell at No. 3, 8-2.

Butts lost at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0, before sophomore Jasmine Andrade (Dorchester, Mass.) was defeated by the same score at No. 5 singles to give Endicott the win. McGibbon was defeated, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 6, Briggs fell at No. 2 (6-1, 6-1), Webb lost at No. 3, 6-1, 6-0, and Sollecito suffered her first loss of the season, dropping a 6-1, 6-2 decision at No. 1.

Wentworth (0-4, 0-3 CCC) is at Simmons on Saturday.
