Bailey Named Honorable Mention All-CCC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Seven out of nine institutions that sponsor volleyball from the Commonwealth Coast Conference were represented on the 2013 All-CCC Volleyball Team. In addition to the all-conference team, five major individual award winners and a team sportsmanship award winner were also selected. Roger Williams University senior Krystie Luczynski was honored as the Player of the Year, while freshman teammate Brittany McMullen was selected as the Rookie of the Year and Western New England University junior Grace Kucharski earned Libero of the Year. The Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor went to University of New England's Angie Brunette and Salve Regina University head coach Lauren Parsons was named CCC Coach of the Year. Gordon College was the recipient of the Team Sportsmanship Award.

Voting for the All-CCC team and each of the major awards was conducted among CCC volleyball coaches.

Wentworth Institute of Technology sophomore outside hitter Hannah Bailey (Plymouth, Mass.) was named Honorable Mention All-CCC.

Bailey started all 26 of the matches in which she played, playing in 89 sets. She averaged 2.62 kills per set, had an attack percentage of .160, recorded 20 service aces, and averaged 2.43 digs per set. She led the team in kills (233) and points (267.5) and was second in digs (216). Bailey began the season with back to back double-doubles as she recorded 13 kills and 14 digs in a 3-1 loss to Merchant Marine and followed that up with a career-high 16-kill, 14-dig performance in a 3-1 win over Farmingdale State. Those two matches, as well as a 12-kill performance in a 3-0 win over CCNY, earned her a spot on the Kings Point Invitational All-Tournament Team.

She recorded double digits in kills on nine occasions and double digits in digs eight times, including posting a career-high 17 in a 2-0 win over Regis.

Under second-year head coach Evin Giglio, the Leopards had their successful season in the program's history as the Black & Gold finished with a 16-11 record.
