BOSTON, Mass. – The Regis College women's volleyball team rattled off six consecutive points in the fifth set to secure a 3-2 non-conference win over Wentworth Institute of Technology on Thursday evening in non-conference action.
With the win, the Pride improves 9-9 overall, while the Leopards dip to 4-11.
Wentworth overcame a 5-1 deficit in the fourth set to tie the session at 5-5 before both teams traded points over the next few serves. Junior Amanda Hunton (Monroe, N.Y.) helped the Black and Gold secure the lead with a service ace, extending the Leopards' advantage to 2014, but a kill by Regis sophomore Emily DeBarros (Brockton, Mass) ignited a 6-1 run to bring the visitors within one point (21-20).

An attack error against the Leopards reenergized the Pride, as Trusty's kill ignited a 9-6 run that provided Regis with a first set victory.
Wentworth junior Jordan Young (Derry, N.H.) provided a spark for the Leopards in the beginning of the second set with a kill that put the hosts ahead, 3-0, but Regis countered off a service error to eventually push ahead, 14-11. Young again helped the Black and Gold rally, recording a kill that was set-up by Hunton that resulted in a 12-5 run to even the match at 1-1.
Regis regained momentum in the third set with a kill by Molinari that pushed the visitors ahead, 5-0. Wentworth did rally back, staying within a few points over the next few serves, but a service ace by Molinari jumpstarted a 7-4 run to provide the Pride with a third set victory.
