Rogoz Picks up CCC Weekly Honors

BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman outside hitter/right side hitter Leah Rogoz (Woodbridge, Ill.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's volleyball team began her collegiate career in fine fashion and today was named both the Commonwealth Coast Conference Player and Rookie of the Week for matches played from September 1-4.

Rogoz helped the Leopards post a 4-0 record and capture the Scranton Invitational title by averaging 3.00 kills and 2.94 digs per set, en route to being named the tournament's most outstanding player. In her collegiate debut, a 3-1 win over Wheaton, she had 10 kills and 14 digs, the first of two-double-doubles she would record on the weekend with the second coming in a 16-kill, 18-dig performance in a 3-2 win over Penn State Behrend.

In three of the four matches in which she played she recorded double figures in kills and had a pair of blocks in the wins over Wheaton and Penn State Behrend and served four aces in a 3-0 win over Mount Saint Mary.

Wentworth is at Simmons on Tuesday night.
