Quick Earns CCC Player and Rookie of the Week Honors

BOSTON, Mass. – After a week in which she averaged 3.67 kills, 0.83 aces, and 2.17 digs per set and hit .477, freshman outside hitter Claire Quick (Mission Viejo, Calif.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's volleyball team has been named both the Commonwealth Coast Conference Player and Rookie of the Week. Quick earns these honors for matches played from Sept. 26-Oct. 2.

Wentworth picked up its first two league wins this past week with Quick playing a major role in each. In a 3-0 win over Salve Regina, she recorded 13 kills, three aces, and seven digs while hitting .480. The win was the first in 13 meetings for the Leopards over the Seahawks. Quick followed that up with nine kills, two aces, and six digs while hitting .474 in a 3-0 win over Nichols. She did not make an error on 19 attacks.

In 15 matches, Quick is averaging 2.62 kills, 0.40 aces, and 3.18 digs per set while hitting .285. She also has six double-doubles.

Off to its best start in program history at 13-2 (2-1 CCC), Wentworth is at Roger Williams on Wednesday evening.
