Leopards Extend Win Streak with 3-0 Sweep Over Anna Maria

BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology women's volleyball team extended its win streak to seven games with a 3-0 victory over Anna Maria College Saturday afternoon inside Tansey Gymnasium.

The Leopards bested the AMCATS by set scores of 25-7, 25-7, and 25-5, and improve to 13-2 overall, while Anna Maria drops to 1-12 on the season.

Wentworth hit .500 or better in each set played, including .538 hitting in the middle frame.

Junior Maddy Tomastik (Portland, Ore.) recorded seven aces in the victory, which is the second-highest aces in a match in Wentworth women's volleyball history. Tomastik served the Leopards 15 straight points in the final set, including five aces in the frame, and split setter duties with freshman Mary Zlotosch (Durham, N.H.).  Zlotosch registered a season-best 19 assists in the match, while Tomastik dished out 15.

Junior Caroline Rupp (Sayville, N.Y.) and freshman Jade Iadarola (Miami, Fla.) each tallied eight kills to lead Wentworth on the attack, while freshman Abigail Mains (Goldendale, Wash.) had six kills and zero errors on seven swings for a blistering .857 hitting.   Sophomore Makenna Salsbury (Bel Air, Md.) followed with .750 hitting with six kills on eight attempts, while freshmen Krisila Hammett (Boiling Springs, S.C.) and Devin Neal (Lebanon, Ohio) posted seven kills apiece.

Defensively, senior Lillie Clark (Vista, Calif.) had 17 digs – a season-high – and additionally dished out five assists. Iadarola narrowly missed a double-double with 10 digs in the effort.

Wentworth resumes non-conference action on Tuesday with a 7:00 p.m. match at Suffolk University.
