CCC Women's Volleyball Champions Sweep Final Weekly Awards

Boston, Mass. – The awards keep rolling in for the 2018 Commonwealth Coast Conference women's volleyball champions, as Wentworth Institute of Technology swept the final weekly conference awards as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

For the third time this season, junior Leah Rogoz (Woodridge, Ill.) was named CCC Player of the Week, while classmate Lexie Cambray (Bedford, N.H.) earned her second Libero of the Week nod. Freshman Mary Zlotosch (Durham, N.H.) took home Rookie of the Week for the first weekly honor of her career.

All three student-athletes played a pivotal role in the Leopards' first-ever CCC Championship Title, helping to lead Wentworth to a complete sweep of the conference tournament.

Rogoz, who leads all conference opponents in kills per set, averaged 4.22 kills, 3.89 digs, and 5.3 points per set in the CCC tournament. The three-time All-Conference First Team selection collected 35 kills overall, and posted double-digit numbers in the quarterfinal and championship match. She led the Leopards to their first CCC title with a match-high 16 kills.

Wentworth's defense was a key factor to their outstanding conference tournament, orchestrated by Cambray who averaged 4.44 digs per set.  She had double-digit digs in each contest including a 15-dig showing in the Championship match. Cambray ranks second overall in the CCC in digs per set, and third in total digs with 393 this season, the best of her career.

Zlotosch rightfully earned Rookie of the Week after averaging 2.11 kills, 1.67 assists, and 1.33 digs per set during the Leopards' championship journey. Zlotosch, who has started all 29 games played during her rookie season, hit .244 on the week, and also added 12 digs and five aces.

Wentworth is set to face Wellesley College in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship on Friday, November 9. First serve is set for 5:30 p.m. in Staake Gymnasium on the campus of Babson College.
