Rogoz Earns AVCA Honorable Mention All-America Honors

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior outside hitter Leah Rogoz (Woodridge, Ill.) caps her illustrious career on the Wentworth women's volleyball team as its first American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-American, as announced by the organization on Tuesday morning.

Rogoz is the first student-athlete to receive Honorable Mention All-America honors in any women's sport since its varsity inception in 1986. She joins two Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) representatives on the Honorable Mention list, alongside a number of the highest caliber athletes in the country.

Named 2019 CCC Player of the Year, Rogoz was later named to the AVCA All-New England Team as Wentworth's first representative on the organization's All-Region squad. She was the CCC's top offensive weapon with 349 kills and 3.42 kills per set while hitting .260 on the year. She additionally averaged 4.0 points per set with 42 aces and 35 total blocks. Rogoz was also a force on the defensive side and compiled the fifth-most digs in the conference (386) while averaging 3.78 digs per set.  She booked 19 double-doubles in 29 matches during her final season with the Black & Gold and has 60 double-doubles to her name throughout her career. 

Rogoz set numerous records for the Leopards in her career and capped her status as the all-time points (1,584) and all-time kills (1,345) leader, both established this year. She became the only Wentworth women's volleyball player to book 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs, and additionally ranks second in the record books with 1,332 digs. Rogoz, a four-time All-CCC First Team selection and 2016 Rookie of the Year, leaves her mark as the most decorated women's volleyball player in program history.
