Wentworth Baseball to Play at Campanelli Stadium

BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology Athletic Department is pleased to announce that Campanelli Stadium in Brockton, Mass., will serve as the official home field for the Leopard baseball team, effective with the 2017 season.

Wentworth played a pair of Commonwealth Coast Conference doubleheaders at Campanelli during the 2016 season and will play all four of its CCC doubleheaders (Endicott, Apr. 2, Gordon, Apr. 8, Nichols, Apr. 29, and Curry, Apr. 30) there as well as a single game against Becker (March 20) this season. The anticipation is that the Black & Gold will add more home games in future seasons.

"We are very excited to be able to call one of the best baseball facilities in New England our new home," said 13th-year head coach Steve Studley. "It is very exciting for our players to have a top notch facility to play at and for our fans to have a great venue to watch a baseball game."

Campanelli Stadium opened its doors in 2002. From 2002-2011 the facility, which also plays host to neighboring Brockton High School as well as other Division I, II, and III college baseball games, housed the Brockton Rox of the Can-Am League which is an independent professional baseball league. The Rox ended their professional baseball run after the 2011 season, and, since 2012, have been in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League, which is a wooden bat summer league for college baseball players.
