SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference announced its first-ever men's ice hockey all-conference teams and major award winners Thursday afternoon. Six of the 10 CCC schools were represented on this year's all-conference list.

The nation's leading scorer Brady Fleurent (Biddeford, Maine) took home the hardware as the league's inaugural player of the year. Kevin Aldridge (Birmingham, Mich.) was named the CCC's Goaltender of the Year after backstopping Endicott to the regular-season championship. Nichols's J.B. Baker (Columbia, Md.) was named the 2016-17 CCC Rookie of the Year and Curry's Ellery O'Hara (Toronto, Ontario) was voted the league's senior scholar-athlete. Endicott's R.J. Tolan was selected by his peers as the CCC Coach of the Year and the team sportsmanship award went to Western New England.

Voting for the All-CCC teams and each of the major awards was conducted by the conference's ten men's ice hockey head coaches following the conclusion of the regular season.

Brady Fleurent was also a member of the All-Conference First Team. He was joined by his brother and line mate Trevor Fleurent (Biddeford, Maine) who was also named a First Team forward. Nichols's Baker and Endicott's Tommy Besinger (Milton, Mass.) were also named First Team forwards. Salve Regina's Nick Cyr (Mount Laurel, N.J.) and the Gulls' Logan Day (Seminole, Fla.) made up the First Team d-pair. Aldridge was the First Team goalie.

Two more Gulls were named All-CCC Second Team forwards. They were sophomores Cam Bleck (Lake Forest, Ill.) and Ross Olsson (Billerica, Mass.). UNE's Ryan Bloom (Northville, Mich.) and Nichols's Scott Cuthrell (Waterford, Mich.) were also All-CCC Second Team forwards. Two Curry players were named as Second Team defenders as Mack Heisinger (Winnipeg, Manitoba) and Jarret Kup (Rosseau, Ontario) received the honor. Seahawks goalie Blake Wojtala (Trenton, Mich.) received Second Team recognition between the pipes.

Salve Regina had three representatives on the All-CCC Third Team, including forwards Jack Billings (Oak Lawn, Ill.) and Pat Thompson (Hellertown, Pa.). They were joined by defenseman Nick Owen (Methuen, Mass.). The rest of the Third Team was made up of Curry forward Tyler Vankleef (Dundas, Ontario), Wentworth defenseman Jake Flynn (Lino Lakes, Minn.), Nichols defenseman Ian Spencer (Hawthorn, N.J.), and Bison goaltender Colin Brennan (Chester, N.J.).

The sophomore class was the biggest group recognized claiming nine of the 21 honorees including eight of the 15 first and second teamers.

A standout on defense, Flynn takes home his second straight all-conference honor as he was named to the final ECAC Northeast All-Conference Team a season ago as a second team selection. In 24 games, Flynn scored five goals and assisted on six others for 11 points, which led the Leopard defensemen for the second consecutive season.

Flynn played in 80 career contests where he scored 13 goals and added 22 assists for 35 points. Three of his career games came on special teams (one power-play goal, two shorthanded goals) and he had three game-winning goals to his credit.
